| In March of this year Amtrak did a trial run of the legendary Ski Train which shuttled skiers from Denver's Union Station to Winter Park in the morning and then back again in the evening. The test was by all accounts a success given how quickly it sold out and how may railfans were hiking to spots all along the Moffat Tunnel route. Here we see AMTK 42 in the specially painted 'Veterans' scheme racing the receding shadows of dawn along the Big 10 Curve to get the skiers to the slopes. |
