Canal Street Vertical Lift Bridge, Pennsylvania Railroad bridge 458, now owned by Amtrak crosses the South Branch of the Chicago River south of Union Station. Designed by Waddel and Harrington and constructed by Pennsylvania Steel Company it was completed in 1914.
The main span weighs 1500 tons.
