Long Hood Forward
Running doubleheaded and long hood forward, a westbound shuttle bound for Bay Head passes through Deal. Mechanical problems with GP40PH-2B no. 4219 caused the Long Branch protect engine (GP40PH-2A no. 4149) to be placed at the head end of this train. Long hood forward revenue trains are rare on NJ Transit today, but were common on these rails during the Jersey Central days. |
