Remarks & Notes
Seldom-seen on the old PRR Main Line west of Lancaster were manifest freights, but here's one on a Saturday morning, less than a month before the inception of Conrail. The train is eastbound, approaching the now-closed Eby-Chiques (or "Chickies") Road crossing. Trailing the 4857 is the 4868. Both units were built by PRR/Westinghouse; the 4857 in June, 1935 and the 4868 in February, 1938.
