Remarks & Notes
DWP 5850 and 5853 stop at the west end of their yard on Duluth's west side with a transfer brought up from downtown Duluth. After switching the traffic will head northwest to the CN at Ft. Francis, ON and on to Winnipeg. It appears there has been some recent track work being done here, perhaps as a result of a derailment? By 1985 the DWP will move operations to Pokegama, WI on DMIR's Interstate Branch, abandoning this yard and their mainline into Duluth proper. Both DWP 5850 and 5853 are former GTW GP38-2s acquired from the defunct Rock Island. These replaced aging Also RS-11s on the DWP.
