“Hey, when you go over to the east plant, can you take a couple of sheets of plywood along?” The New Jersey Zinc Company rostered a small fleet of Alco switchers to work within and between its two plants in Palmerton, Pennsylvania. The zinc company also owned the common-carrier Chestnut Ridge Railway, which had their own stable of Alcos. Here, an S2 takes a few cars toward the east plant.
