Restored Southern Railway SD40 No. 3170 holds a cut of hoppers in front of the Gainesville depot while exhaust from the feed mill fades into the night sky. While the 3170 is one of the older units on the roster, the 3428 to the right will turn 50 later this year.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
