View of Brig, transport hub in the Upper Valais, at night, with the passenger station (left) and the freight yard (right). From the Lötschberg mountain route, the "Lötschberger" RegioExpress 4281 from Berne winds along the hillside down to the station. From track 1 leaves a ETR 610 of the SBB as Euro City 36 from Milan to Geneva towards Visp. On track 4 and 7 are Intercity trains of SBB visible. In the foreground, the light traces of a train can be seen, which is being put away in the sidings from track 3. Right of the railway tracks, the Rhone or the Rotten, as the river is called in the German speaking upper Valais, and on the other side of the river the city Naters. Up on the hillside are the lights of Mund and Birgisch villages.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
