Remarks & Notes
"Bauxite No.2" was built in 1874 by the firm of Black Hawthorn,Gateshead, and worked until 1947 at International Aluminium Co. Ltd. It's job was to haul wagonloads of (yes, you've got there before me !!) bauxite around. It is now on display at the National Railway Museum,York,in unrestored condition. For some reason it is paired with an 1851 First Class carriage from the Eastern Counties Railway.
