The Crystal Springs & Cahuenga Valley Railway was, I believe, a fictional railroad made up by the Travel Town folk in Los Angeles. Back in the 1990s and early 2000s they ran a caboose train on the first Sunday of each month. I was the dad of two toddlers when I discovered this op and I never got over there by myself with a real camera to shoot it running. This photo was taken at the grade crossing with a small APS film camera while I was trying to also hold the hands of at least one of those toddlers. There was some dustup between volunteer groups and the two cabooses wound up on the garden track in Fullerton, CA. The Model 40 is still there in Travel Town, but I don't think it runs for visitors any more.
