Departing the Texas & Pacific yard in Longview, Texas, is a train led by Missouri Pacific GP38 856, MP GP18 430 and T&P GP9 398. This view, taken on March 3rd, 1973, shows a yard full of "classic" freight cars: 40' box cars from Santa Fe (on the far left) and MP, UTLX and GATX single-dome tank cars, and what was then cutting-edge railroading in the way of 40' trailers on 89' flat cars.
