After five months of being inactive, Northshore Mining operated its first ore train today between the mine at Babbitt and plant at Silver Bay. Cliffs Natural Resources idled this operation in October 2015 due to weak steel demand but the resumption of production this week is welcome in northeastern Minnesota. Here two leased SD90s and two SD40-3s handled 156 loads downgrade toward Silver Bay.
