| The last ever empty Leigh Creek coal train nears Leigh Creek, about 18km shy of the Alinta coal mine north of here. Motive power for the last trip was 3 former NSW 82 class - 8229, 8222 & 8258. The towns of Leigh Creek and Copley all hung around until dusk hoping to see the return of the loaded train. Unfortunately, the final loaded train left the mine late and did not pass through during daylight. |
