Late afternoon at Rose Wood. With his trusty pipe in his mouth, a WW&F Engine Man takes his late afternoon freight south past Rose Wood Crossing, en route to its final destination in the coastal town of Wiscasset, some 7 miles further south.
The rural crossing at Rose Wood Stables has become a popular spot from which to photograph the present-day WW&F Museum. With the ROW pretty much aligned North-South, and the trees cut back some distance from the track, this location receives sunlight from mid-morning until late afternoon. It's a great spot to get a nicely lit photo that still has that "woods of Maine" look to it.
