It's 0656 and morning light illuminates the CSX Terminal Subdivision at Depew, New York. It is here that some of the last surviving New York Central target signals in the Buffalo area stand, but not for long. Under the vintage signals, CSX's Chicago (BRC) to Selkirk, NY train Q386 is seen passing by with a handsome pair of units. Despite feeling half past dead after a sleepless overnight trip from Worcester on Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited, I managed to get up at sunrise to capture all the action going down on this busy CSX line.
