Amtrak Piedmont No. 75 prepares to make a station stop in Kannapolis. Lately, the Piedmont trains have been operating in push-pull mode for a multitude of reasons. First, the wye in Raleigh is currently out of commission due to construction, the NCDOT is preparing to take delivery of refurbished cab cars, and as an added bonus, having two locomotives helps to make up time when the trains are behind schedule.
