The steamlocomotive D 1/3 # 1 "LIMMAT" was built in 1847 by Emil Kessler in Esslingen/Germany for the first swiss railway from Zürich to Baden, called the "Spanisch Brötli Bahn". This vehicle is a operational replica from 1947. It was brought to Erstfeld on a lowfloor transporter for the exhibition on the occasion of the Gotthard Base Tunnel opening event. The locomotive is slowly moving from the transporter, hold back by a steel wire. The chimney had to be removed for the street transport and was loaded to the tender.
