The Mojave Desert is a magical place at either sunrise or sunset. On March 4, 1995 the temperature is dropping fast as the sun disappears behind me. Another in the endless parade of Santa Fe intermodal freights is climbing Goffs Hill at Ibis, California. The light was very low, so I placed my camera on a tripod and used a slow shutter speed. The train wasn't flying off the face of the planet, so I knew I had a chance to "stop" it---and I did. This was shot on Kodachrome 64 slide film.
