The daily Escalante Western train returns to the Plains-Escalante Generating Station with coal from the Lee Ranch Mine, located near Grants, New Mexico, The generating station, mine, and train are all owned and operated by Western Fuel Association, over the Santa Fe (now BNSF) Lee Ranch subdivision.
