Train time in Rawlins, WY…… A busy railroad town since the beginning Rawlins continues to serve as a crew change point and fueling location for trains traveling Union Pacific's busy Overland Route. Amidst the near constant parade of mainline trains, of which three can be seen in the background (2 tied down awaiting rested crews), Union Pacific's Sinclair local slips out of town behind rebuilt SD40N 1865 and SD40-2 3208. The local is bound for its namesake refinery in Sinclair, WY some 7 miles east of town along the Laramie Subdivision where it will spend the day switching.
