| The Moffat Road was once the undisputed scenic railroad line of of North America. This photo shows the steep 4% climb to Needles Eye Tunnel. Jenny lake is at the bottom right side of the photo. The route was closed in 1928 after the completion of the Moffat Tunnel. Rails were torn out in 1935. The Needles Eye Tunnel was closed in 1979 to auto traffic after rock fall problems... |
