The Alaska Railroad runs an extra southbound military train headed for the Port of Anchorage, seen here about to cross Fireweed Road. This is the first time I have seen a solid train of 80 cars of military equipment. Usually the normal procedure is to add a some loads to a few of the nightly freights until they all get to the final destination. I guess this time around an expedited move was required.
