Back in 1994, 7 SD40-2s on a WB grain train was standard for BN operating over Marias Pass. Here at the summit of Marias Pass, just East of the crossovers at Marias are 5 BN SD40-2s up front with 104 perfectly matched and relatively-new Trinity 4750 covered hoppers on the drawbar. The head of the train is starting the descent of Marias Pass, while two more SD40-2s are shoving uphill on the rear to keep the slack bunched. The rear helpers will ride to Essex where the crew will detatch from this train and go off-duty.

just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
