Remarks & Notes
Elephant-style F-units pass under the classic old Western Maryland Railway signal bridge in Chambersburg. Trains traversed this route from 1881 to November 2, 2000. The tracks are gone today, but the right-of-way has been turned into a 1-1/2 mile rail-trail. The 116 is an ex-Clinchfield unit, built as an F3A in 1948. The occasion was MARC's "Patriot Special," offering several shuttles that day between Chambersburg and Lurgan.
