Remarks & Notes
Under an ominous sky that foretells rain, the third section of a Canadian National coal train departs the loader at Teck’s Cardinal River Operation near Cadomin, Alberta, on August 8, 2016. The 50-car train is set up 1+1, with GE ES44AC No. 2900 on the lead, with sister ES44AC No. 2958 set up as a rear DPU. Both locomotives will ease the the loads down a steep 3% grade of the 5.5-mile Luscar Industrial Spur, continue east (north) on the Mountain Park and Foothills Subdivisions and combining with the other two sections at Bickerdike (near Edson).

Some trains just have an especially futuristic look to them.
