Sometimes you get lucky. I went out to shoot a southbound CP train I knew was coming at the Amtrak depot in Sturtevant, WI. I knew Amtrak #337 was in the area and it showed up first to make its' station stop. Just as it stopped, the CP grain train, led by UP 5544, came thru the station at track speed. Couldn't have planned it better myself!
