Remarks & Notes |
LORAM RGS-7 and RGS-8 have just tied down at the west end of the Westward Siding in St. Albans on a chilly November night. The two rail switch grinders are linked together as part of an experimental master-slave configuration to improve grinding efficiency and reduce the amount of passes needed while performing their work. The duo has been testing from Cleveland, Ohio through Columbus to Russell, and will continue east from St. Albans to Richmond before the units are broken up. |
