| Passing over the calm Potomac River from Maryland into West Virginia is NS 8103 at the front of train 228. 8103 is specially painted to honor a Norfolk Southern predecessor, the Norfolk and Western. This is only the third time since 2012 the engine has led a train on the Shenandoah Valley Line, on it's home rails as this used to be a N&W line.
I thought about titling this photo "FINALLY..." as I had been jumping at the chance to catch this engine leading on these rails since it debuted in the Spring of 2012. |
