Remarks & Notes
Union Pacific MDVRO (Denver to Roper Yard in Salt Lake City) freight leaves the great plains behind as it curves out of Clay, Colorado, on April 18, 2001. Eight locomotives power the westbound train—Rio Grande SD40T-2 Nos. 5390 and 5345, followed by a UP SD70M, four Southern Pacific GE AC4400CWs and a UP AC4400CW. The city of Denver can be seen through the trees above the second SP GE.
