| CSX 411 leads the empty trash train up the 1% grade between Meads Station and Summit on the former Lexington Subdivision to Winchester. This operation was in it's waning days at this point, as after months of legal battles with the county fiscal court & state EPA, the landfill shut down the rail operation less than 3 weeks after this photo was taken, after thousands of dollars were spent on track upgrades and tunnel clearance projects specifically for this train. Today this 11-mile line only sees an as-needed local to a steel plant at the end of the line. |
