Remarks & Notes
DMIR 157 shows off a fresh coat of paint in their arrowhead scheme as it waits with caboose C-239 at BN's Rice's Point Yard while in transfer service between Proctor and Duluth. Note the unique air hose arrangement designed to work with DMIR ore jennies, as well as the small fuel tank. DMIR SD's were delivered with a small tank and a ballast block (behind the coupler knuckles) for added tractive effort. The exception was units 129 and 130 delivered with two tanks and steam generators for passenger service.
