Two rather unnoticed items to some "train buffs" made CSX coal train T830 the night's subject. First, a coal train rarely travels the A&WP/WofA Subdivision south of Union City and second, a pair of the carrier's not so well liked SD70ACes' mated with one another. CSXT purchased 20 examples of the EMD model which were built from April to September of 2004. Nineteen of the twenty are active with 4839 being retired. CSXT 4835 and 4847 lead this Hazard, Kentucky to Ensley, Alabama coal train through the sleepy south Fulton County town of Palmetto, Georgia on a chilled December 15, 2016 morning.
