The Upper Peninsula of of Michigan has always been the land of Misfit power for the railroads from the days of the CNW Fairbanks Morse trainmasters, CNW high hood C628's, MILW F Units, to even today's CN power. On this day it was no exception, a endangered Cowl Dash 8 and a non dynamic brake SD40-2 were working the local/all rail ore trains. 2016 has been a good year for power like this in the UP with lots of Dash 8's, SD40-2's, 40-2W's, BC rail's, IC, GTW and probably even more that i am forgetting. Here L549 scoots around K.I. Sawyer with a short train in tow.
