| A Manned Helper in 2017 - What appears to be the UP 7620 leading the eastbound QRVWCB-30 upgrade through Woodford past the still standing water tower foundations that once served thirsty steam locomotives is actually much more. Working together to get the heavy train over the hill, the crew onboard of the 7620 works their helper unit in sync with the crew onboard the lead road unit, the 2611. Who would have thought on the first day of the new year that Tehachapi would see manned helper service continue to play a pivotal role on helping trains get over the hill. |
