The California Zephyr, passes through Thistle, Utah.
This is near the site, where a mudslide occurred, in 1983. The landslide, dammed up there river, creating a lake, which wiped out the railroad, the town of Thistle, and U.S. Highway 6.
The railroad, originally went on the floor of the canyon. Rio Grande, bored tunnels, and rerouted it, to its present location.
