A break in the weather spells good luck for Union Pacific. Earlier in the week, snow measured by the foot fell across the Sierra Nevada Mountains. With major washouts on the Feather River Route, it was imperative UP be able to run trains via Donner Pass. The remarkable work of the Union Pacific Snow Fighters is evident by the large piles of snow adjacent to the tracks. This group of seasoned professionals used spreaders to move the heavy snow away from the mainline, allowing the trains to keep moving. Here, a hot ZOAG2 climbs up the #2 track at Cisco on a beautiful morning in the Sierra Nevada's.
