Remarks & Notes

BN/Metra commuter trains relax at the Aurora coach yard awaiting commuter duties of the next work week. The Morrison Knudsen rebuilt E8s and E9s are approaching retirement age having lived a previous life of rotating between Zephyrs and commuters on the Burlington before rebuilding and permanent assignment to the BN commuter pool. I'm not so sure the red/white candy cane stripes were an appropriate exchange for the former CB&Q Mars lights. It seems to clash a bit with the BN green, but I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
