Remarks & Notes
After the first major snow storm in almost 2 years for the Albany area, one of the 4 Amtrak dual mode Empire Phase III repaints brings Empire Service train 280 from Niagara Falls into the Rensselaer station. The Albany, NY skyline is in the background. The former Delaware & Hudson Railway headquarters building is directly behind the 701. Out of site across the Hudson River to the right is the old New York Central Albany Union station. The Maiden Lane Bridge which carried the New York Central Water level route across the Hudson and into the station used to cross the river right behind the 701.

The GE Genesis series are well known for being Amtrak's locomotive. With confirmation of retirement from Amtrak themselves, their time is limited. Now is your chance to catch them before the chargers arrive!

Trains pulled by modern GE locos, from Dash-9s onward. My favorite locos, probably because I worked for GE at Erie, PA.
