Union Pacific SD40-2 No. 3320 is going through the process of being rebuilt into a SD40N at UP’s Jenks Shop at North Little Rock, Arkansas, on May 18, 2015. No. 3320’s hood waits outside the shop, loaded on a specialized, rolling platform (flatcar?) that can be moved to where it is needed, and can be stored elsewhere out of the way of work being done. In the background on the other side of the transfer table is another SD40-2 (No. 3299) being rebuilt into a SD40N, with the “snoot” nose on this locomotive having some new sheet metal work.
