Folks love to talk about catching the old high hood GP38-2s (heck, I'm one of them), but rarely do people talk about a unit holding a much more rare status- the GP59s. Currently, just 18 GP59 units remain on the active roster, 5 of which are stored. Norfolk Southern was the only road to ever purchase these units, 36 total including the 3 EMD demonstrators.
