Sequentially numbered Milwaukee Road GP30s 1002 and 1003 sun themselves at Savanna, IL between runs on a snowless early January day in 1976. Unusual for their Alco trucks, the GP30s were in the eclectic company of F units, GP9s, and even FM switchers and H-16-44s on this visit to what was once one of the more interesting facilities on the eastern part of the Milwaukee Road. Both units were retired in May 1983, 20 years after they were built. They went to Precision National Corp. 9/4/84.
