Remarks & Notes
SAN BERNARDINO CA Sept 3 1983 — Santa Fe SD45-2 5626, C30-7s 8114 and 8031 await an assignment with the shops in the background. EMD built the unit (s/n 7391-2) and delivered it in May 1972 in blue body with yellow ends (Bookends) livery. After Aug 26 1972 it was repainted into blue body with yellow warbonnet livery. In November 1987 the San Bernardino shops rebuilt the unit as an SD45-2B and renumbered it ATSF 5513. It was painted in its original Bookends livery. In April 1994 the unit underwent maintenance at Morrison Knudsen and gained MKM marks below the road numbers under the cab’s side-windows. After the 1995 merger of Burlington Northern and Santa Fe it was renumbered BNSF 7507 still in Bookends livery. My photo. This unit was rebuilt as an SD45-2B in November 1987. My photo.
