Remarks & Notes
The New York section of the Lake Shore Limited has just started it's SB trip out of the Rensselaer station after splitting off the power and head 4 cars for Boston (448). On the left is the 3rd version of Amtrak's Rensselaer station. Opened in September 2002, it replaced the 1980 station built by Amtrak which replaced the original 1968 station built when Penn Central moved out of downtown Albany. Both stations were located to the north of the current station. On the right is the bee hive dome of the Church of St. John the Evangelist which has over looked the railroad here since 1891.
