After the railroad came to a standstill, DS 10 and Forth Worth Mechanical clear up the mess of broken down trains along the hill to get the fleet of westbounds back on the move. With an eastbound train having a lock axle on one of its DPUs and a hotshot Z-train having PTC restricting them to a max sped of 55 MPH, instead of 70, the traffic jam grew as the sun fades behind the mountain. Here, the first eastbound train makes its way out of town as westbound train slowly grinds up grade after being third out on the list of westbounds trying to make their way though Flagstaff.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
