| Exactly 100 years after the day, when the 19803 meter long Simplon tunnel between Brig/Switzerland and Iselle di Trasquera/Italy was inaugurated, a special train of the SBB ran to Domodossola for a celebration. Ae 6/6 # 11423 "Valais/Wallis" is pulling the 1930' vintage cars of SBB Historic. Gotthard locomotive Ae 6/6 # 11423 was withdrawn from service in 2010 and scrapped in 2011. |
