| An eight-car train of Metro North M2 class MUs speeds west through West Haven, CT, on a New Haven-Grand Central run. The unique left-hand semaphores on this line dated back to the New Haven Railroad's 1914 electrification, and they lasted into the 1990s. Their compact design was necessary in order to clear the catenary. |
