Remarks & Notes
Mount Washington Cog Railway No. 8, Moosilauke, is at Skyline Switch, almost to the top of the mountain. No. 8 was the newest steam locomotive in North America at the time it was built in 1983. In 2008 during a major overhaul, steam on the railroad was dramatically curtailed. No. 8's cab and tender were given to No. 4, Summit, which sits on display along U.S. 302. The rest of No. 8 is rusting at the railroad's shops.
