A surprise to the local railfanning community in Utah came in the form of UP 3028, which was leading the MNPWC-09 on it's journey westbound to southern California. The train arrived in Union Pacific's Salt Lake City 'North Yard' with 109 cars to set out, making easy work for the rest of the journey through Utah, Nevada and California.
