AMTK 711 in Empire Phase III leads a NB Grand Central test train with 5 amcoaches and AMTK 95 (trailing) up Track 4 at Rensselaer. AMTK 711 has been fitted with 3rd rail shoes compatible with the old New York Central system in place from Croton to Grand Central. Amtrak will be routing a few Empire Service trains to Grand Central during the Penn Station track rebuild project.
