Remarks & Notes
It may be springtime in Denver and other parts of the country, but up here at East Portal, Colorado, at over 9,000 feet in elevation, winter still reigns supreme. A westbound Rio Grande freight fights wind and blowing snow as it curves past East Portal siding as it approaches the Moffat Tunnel in a high country blizzard.
